Security settings & two-factor authentication (2FA)

Overview

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of protection to your account. After you enter your password, you also enter a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone — so even if someone learns your password, they can’t sign in without your device.

Turn on two-factor authentication

1. Go to Security settings and open Two-Factor Authentication.
2. Download an authenticator app on your phone (any standard TOTP app works).
3. Select Scan QR Code and scan the code shown on screen with your app.
4. Enter the 6-digit code from the app to verify.
5. Choose Verify Setup to finish. 2FA is now active.

Save your recovery codes

When you enable 2FA, HirePanther gives you recovery codes. These let you sign in if you lose your phone.

• Save them somewhere safe (a password manager or printed copy).
• Each code works once.
• Don’t share them with anyone.

Signing in with 2FA

1. Enter your email/phone and password as usual.
2. When prompted, enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
3. If you can’t access your app, choose to use a recovery code instead.

Troubleshooting

• Code rejected? Authenticator codes are time-based — make sure your phone’s clock is set to automatic, and enter the newest code.
• Lost your phone and codes? Open a support ticket so our team can help verify your identity and restore access.
• Want to turn it off? Return to Security settings; you may need to confirm a current code first.
